The great affair in my life is to travel. I count myself immensely fortunate that my partner shares this passion. We are a team that likes to spend time planning and plotting out places to go. Destination check, flights check, accommodation check, cheesy grins check. Off we go.

  1. I hear the somber tones of Benedict Cumberbatch’s voice and all I could think is why did his parents name him Benedict and what is Adi carrying in that large tote bag? Sorry, my mind never really wakes up on a Sunday! Beautiful photos that I am enjoying immensely! – Neek ๐Ÿ˜›

    1. A valid point. He squabbled over Eggs Benedict with his siblings? Who knows. Parents have mysterious ways and rhythms.
Adi is laden with an empty tote for our groceries. Hah make the husband lug everything.
Thank you Neek. Have a slow Sunday as it should be ๐Ÿ™‚ xx

    1. Hiya Tracey, thanks! Yeah it has been a good spell. The wind along the riverfront is pretty bad so the trees there are all in the buff. I remember the blustery November days in Northampton and London when I shook like a leaf.

  2. Liquid voice renders me helpless as it recites almost TOO perfectly a verse which is so familiar and yet never ever tired of. It was Autumn that persuaded me that living in the US could work for me …. your pictures, your magical pictures (catch that squirrel and keep it hostage for me) have me supine with delight! Xx

    1. Thank you Osyth! I can hold the squirrels hostage all too easily. Just a handful of nuts is all I need. Autumn is rather lovely here. There had to be some give ๐Ÿ˜‰
As for that voice and some of my favourite lines…the blushful Hippocrene…beaded bubbles…a match made in a wonderful dream. It is swoon-worthy ๐Ÿ™‚ xx

      1. I truly believe they are some of the most swoon-worthy lines EVER written. Hold that thought about Autumn … winter can be pretty lovely too, I seem to remember ? xx

      2. Oh my … we had snow upon snow in Massachusetts and you aren’t too far south of that to enjoy the frosting thought it must be said that the night I arrived i was graced with an ice-storm (who knew … actual shards of ice falling out of the sky …) which I was less enamoured with notwithstanding the taxi drivier actually skating my bags up the drive as The Bean and I picked our way like reluctant reticule carrying octatenarians of another era!!! xx

      3. I felt shards of ice pierce my skin on a cold winter’s day in Bremen, that small pretty little town in Germany, when I was out for a walking tour. So I get the physical pain of icy needles prickling into my very face. At the end of it I had to dry myself out in a beautiful old-world cafe with delicious pastry but well there were shards to contend with before that.
I just pictured The Bean and you dragging the selves up the driveway, the driver in tow, like in a movie. The Holiday? ๐Ÿ™‚ I can also imagine the snow-upon-snow scenario in Massachusetts. It was frigging cold when we went there last time and it was still early autumn. xx

      4. I honestly had no concept of cold before I was there and I had lived in le Massif Central for the previous three years! I also found the stultifying heat in summer quite taxing and announced to all who would listen, and to their collective horror, that it was only because the Pilgrim Father’s were outcasts and no-one wanted them that they ever settled in New England at all. No one in their right minds with a choice would do so. I lived to tell the tale but you can imagine the shock of the recipients of my tyrades!!! xx

      5. I can I can because my husband tends to say the same aloud. I have made him swear that he shall not get us beaten up in public ๐Ÿ˜‰ I can see him and you indulging in these wicked conversations! Me shaking my head from the sidelines… Adi keeps telling me the same. That I should experience the cold here before opening my mouth. However I did watch a Stephen Fry show in Wisconsin and it gave me an idea of what winters be like in some parts of this country. xx

      6. I remember finding a website when I was living there that gave the States ranked in order of coldness and Mass was barely in the top 10 – Wisconsin and Montana just get TOO much snow – I’m sure some people’s houses are buried for weeks. xx
